Mar Roxas a Liberal Party presidential bet has challenged Mayor Rodrigo Duterte of Davao City to a fistfight instead of a slap match.
Roxas said after a meeting with congressmen at the Liberal Party headquarters in Cubao. “Lahat itong mga sinasabi mong sampalan, ganoon-ganoon—anong kinalaman niyan sa buhay ng 100 milyong Pilipino…? Sa dami ng problema na hinaharap ng ating bansa, ikaw nauuwi ka sa kung ano-anong mga kalokohan.”
Roxas said as quoted in GMA News Online. “Gawin mo na lang kung anong gusto mong gawin. At sampalan? Bakit pa sampalan, pambabae ‘yan, suntukan na lang? Di ba? simpleng-simple lang ito.”
He even gave his full address: 157 P Tuazon, Cubao, Quezon City. He added that he is angry and upset with bullies and those who abuse power. “Talk, talk, talk. ‘Yan na lang ginagawa mo, Digong eh. Daldal nang daldal. Cubao, Quezon City, aantayin kita, Roxas, said.
Word war between two presidential candidates began to heighten over the issue of peace and order in Davao City, which was branded by former DILG secretary Mar Roxas as a myth.
According to Roxas, Duterte knew that he was not telling the truth on the real statistics of crime rates in Davao because he was also the chairman of Regional Peace and Order Council and in charge of the peace and order in the whole Davao region.
Duterte answered back and said, Roxas Wharton degree is a myth and he will slap the LP bet if their paths crossed during the campaign period.
Roxas also reacted to Duterte’s claim that he is not a Wharton degree holder or his degree is also a myth or non-existent.
Roxas said, if Mayor Duterte proved that he was not a Wharton degree holder, he challenged the mayor that he is willing to be slapped, however, if proven real he will likewise slap Duterte.
