MANILA - The 40th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) organizers announce the full list of winners and awardees for the 2014 film competition in the awards night held on Saturday, December 27 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

Eight official entries have competed for the 2014 MMFF major awards and this entries are Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles, Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo, Muslim Magnum .357, Praybeyt Benjamin 2, Feng Shui 2, My Big Bossing’s Adventures, Shake, Rattle & Roll XV, and English Only, Please.

“Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo” took home the Best Picture award, along with several other awards such as Best Musical Scorer, Best Theme Song, Best Cinematographer, and Best Sound Engineer.

It was also honored with three special awards, namely Youth’s Choice, Best Float, and the Gatpuno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award.

“Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2” was named 3rd Best Picture. It also won six other awards, which included Best Supporting roles for Lotlot de Leon and Joey Marquez.

Jennelyn Mercado and Dereck Ramsey won the  best actress and best actor in their movie “English Only Please”.

Ryzza Mae Dizon was named best child performer in “My Big Bossing,” which was said to be one of the top four grossing films of this year’s MMFF.

The “Magnum Muslim .357”,  “Feng Shui,”  “Shake, Rattle & Roll 14,” and “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” also failed to bag a single award.
